Arianna Nañez at the UNCSA Visual Arts Summer Intensive
For Arianna Nañez, the UNCSA Visual Arts Summer Intensive was an opportunity to step outside her comfort zone and discover new possibilities in her artistic practice. Surrounded by fellow students who shared her passion for art, she explored new techniques, experimented with different approaches, and learned from both her instructors and classmates.
One of Arianna's most important lessons was learning to let go of the expectation that a finished piece must look exactly as she had originally imagined it. Allowing herself to experiment—and even make mistakes—helped her understand that unexpected results can be an important part of the creative process.
The supportive environment at UNCSA encouraged Arianna to take risks with her work and become more confident in her artistic decisions. Rather than being afraid of what might go wrong, she learned to embrace the freedom to create, explore, and discover where the process might lead.
"I was pushed out of my comfort zone, but that helped me become even more confident in what I made. I really enjoyed being in an environment where I could create and experiment."
Made possible through an Anthony Quinn Foundation Scholarship in Visual Arts, Arianna's summer at UNCSA gave her new artistic tools and, perhaps most importantly, greater confidence in her own creative process—lessons she will carry with her as she continues developing as an artist.
